ADAMAH STEIN'S LINE FOR 2009 represents a turning point in the inspiration for the brand’s clothing lines. After five months spent in Senegal, in view of the urgency there of the question of plastic waste, Adamah Stein decided to focus its activity on the use of that waste as raw material for the decoration of clothes and accessories. The couture aspect of the line and the search for originality are pushed even further. The contrast between materials such as potato sacks, plastic embroideries made from daily waste gathered from the ground, give the garment the appearance of a true artist’s collage. The taming of unusual materials – rigid carpets becoming elastic for ultra-elegant cocktail dresses, handbags entirely made of recycled rice sacks that you can wear for the most formal occasions – give this line the glamorous, urban and original contrast that opens new artistic, and fair, perspectives for fashion. |
